Locum Childcare Solicitor – 3 months + – Full time – Predominantly Remote Working – Up to Β£60-Β£65 per hour Umbrella – Midlands

Position: Locum Childcare Solicitor
Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months with the possibility of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Full time ideally – candidates for 4 days per week may also be considered
Working Arrangement: Predominantly remote working, attending court 1-2 times per week
Hourly Rate: Up to Β£60-Β£65 per hour umbrella

The ideal candidate will have a strong experience of handling Public Childcare matters in Local Authority.

Duties may include:

  • Manage a caseload of complex and sensitive public law children matters including care proceedings, adoption and associated high court proceedings
  • Draft high-quality legal documents under tight deadlines, including threshold statements, application forms, orders instructions to counsel and detailed legal advice
  • Conduct advocacy across urgent applications, CMHs, IRHs, and directions hearings
  • Advise regularly at Legal Planning Meetings
