Housing Options Advisor
Office-Based | East Midlands Region | Full Driving Licence Required
We are currently recruiting for a Housing Options Advisor to join a busy Housing Solutions team, supporting individuals and families who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.
Hourly rate: £28 - £30 (Umbrella)
Hours: 37 hours | Monday to Friday | 4 days on site
Contract length: 6 months
The Role
Working within a specialist homelessness prevention service, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality housing advice, assessments and interventions to help people find sustainable housing solutions and avoid homelessness wherever possible.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing housing advice, triage and assessments for customers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Managing a caseload of homelessness prevention and relief cases in line with legislation and best practice
- Completing Full Housing Assessments (FHAs) and Personal Housing Plans (PHPs) to achieve sustainable housing outcomes
- Delivering homelessness prevention solutions through landlord negotiation, mediation and tenancy sustainment support
- Working with internal teams, housing providers and partner agencies to secure accommodation and support for vulnerable households
- Participating in multi-agency meetings to manage risk and coordinate support plans
- Supporting move-on pathways from supported accommodation into long-term housing, particularly within the private rented sector
- Building effective relationships with landlords, letting agents and accommodation providers to maximise housing opportunities
- Identifying safeguarding concerns and taking appropriate action to protect vulnerable residents
- Maintaining accurate case records and contributing to service improvements and best practice initiatives
About You
We are keen to hear from housing professionals who have experience supporting vulnerable customers and navigating complex housing situations.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Ability to travel across the local region as required
- Enhanced DBS check required
- Office-based role with occasional flexibility required to meet service demands
