We are recruiting for a Cleaner to join a well-established independent school in the Harrow area. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking individual to become part of a supportive site team responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
The position is offered on an initial temporary basis with the potential to become permanent after the first month.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 3:30pm to 7:30pm
- 20 hours per week
- All-year-round position
Pay & Benefits

Key Responsibilities
- Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, and communal areas to a high standard
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
- Replenish toiletries, tissues, and cleaning supplies
- Use cleaning products safely and in line with COSHH regulations
- Follow all health and safety procedures
- Maintain cleaning equipment and report faults when required
- Monitor stock levels and notify management when supplies are running low
- Provide cover for absent colleagues where necessary
- Carry out additional cleaning duties as required
Candidate Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning products and COSHH regulations desirable
- School cleaning experience beneficial but not essential
- Good spoken and understood English
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual cleaning duties
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivated
- Professional, friendly, and approachable
- Willing to undertake training as required
Safeguarding
The successful candidate will be expected to adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
