We are working with an established healthcare organisation in Kent to recruit an experienced and commercially focused procurement leader to take responsibility for its Procurement & Supplies function.
This is a broad role combining strategic procurement leadership with hands-on operational responsibility. You will lead the procurement team, develop supplier partnerships, oversee purchasing and stock management, negotiate key contracts and identify opportunities to deliver meaningful commercial savings and efficiencies.
Working closely with senior leadership, clinical and operational teams, you will ensure procurement delivers the right products and services at the right quality, value and time, while maintaining strong governance and supporting excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
Lead the Procurement & Supplies function, overseeing purchasing, stock management and the effective delivery of goods and services.
Develop and deliver the procurement strategy, ensuring alignment with operational, commercial and organisational objectives.
Lead and develop the procurement team, driving high performance, accountability and continuous improvement.
Deliver cost savings and commercial value through supplier negotiations, competitive tenders, contract management and strategic supplier relationships.
Partner with clinical, operational and senior stakeholders to balance quality, patient safety, service, cost and regulatory compliance.
Drive improvements across procurement systems, digitalisation, governance, data and supply chain processes, identifying smarter and more efficient ways of working.
Requirements
Significant procurement leadership experience, ideally within healthcare, hospitals or another highly regulated environment.
CIPS or an equivalent qualification would be advantageous
Proven experience developing procurement, purchasing or supply chain teams, including managing change and continuous improvement.
Strong commercial and financial acumen, with a track record of delivering measurable savings, efficiencies and commercial value.
Experience managing complex tenders, supplier negotiations, high-value contracts and supplier performance.
