A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Rates Recovery Officer to join a well-established Revenues team on a permanent, part-time basis (26 hours per week).
Location: Bromley (Home/Hybrid Working)
Salary: £27,008 - £30,294 (Pro Rata)
Hours: 26 Hours Per Week
Contract: Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Business Rates recovery cases through all stages of the recovery process
- Proactively undertaking debt recovery and account housekeeping activities
- Maintaining accurate debtor records to support effective billing and collection
- Conducting tracing activities and company searches to locate liable parties
- Processing recovery documentation and administrative tasks
- Assisting with summons surgeries and attending NNDR recovery meetings
- Referring cases to Enforcement Agents and progressing returned cases
- Preparing cases for Charging Orders and Bankruptcy proceedings
- Attending monthly Summons Court hearings
- Ensuring compliance with KPIs, SLAs, and relevant procedures
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience within Business Rates (NNDR) and debt recovery
- Strong knowledge of Business Rates legislation and recovery processes
- Experience progressing accounts through the full recovery cycle
- Excellent communication skills with customers, legal representatives, magistrates, and external agencies
- Proactive approach to debt collection and case management
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet targets
- Experience using Academy (NEC), Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
