Rate: £250 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Location: Fully Remote
Contract: 6 Months Initially
We are seeking experienced Annual Review Case Officers to support a local authority SEND service with the management and review of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong understanding of SEND legislation and annual review processes to manage a caseload of children and young people, ensuring plans remain accurate, compliant and outcome-focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Coordinate annual reviews and amendment processes in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
- Act as the named officer for allocated cases, providing advice and guidance to families, educational settings and partner agencies.
- Gather and analyse information from a range of professionals to inform decisions relating to EHCP amendments, maintenance or cessation.
- Draft, review and amend EHCPs, ensuring outcomes are SMART and plans are issued to a high standard within statutory timescales.
- Prepare reports and briefing papers for decision-making panels, presenting cases where required.
- Attend annual review meetings and other multi-agency discussions to support effective case progression.
- Work collaboratively with educational psychologists, social workers, health professionals, schools, colleges and training providers.
- Monitor statutory deadlines and ensure full compliance with SEND legislation and local procedures.
- Support transition planning and phase transfers, ensuring appropriate arrangements are in place.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience with EHCP annual reviews within a local authority SEND service.
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
- Experience drafting and amending EHCPs to a high standard.
