Locum Principal Housing Lawyer β 3 months + β Predominantly Remote Working β Full Time β Midlands
Position: Locum Principal Housing Lawyer
Organisation: Midlands based
Duration: 3 months + with the possibility of extension thereafter
Working Pattern: Full Time
Working Arrangement: Predominantly remote working, once a week attendance required office/Court
Hourly Rate: Up to Β£65 per hour Umbrella, dependent on experience
The ideal candidate will have experience in handling Housing Disrepair matters and can demonstrate prior experience working on behalf of Local Authorities.
Duties may include:
- Undertake all aspects of legal work relating to Housing Disrepair bringing all outsourced work back within the Council
- Supporting and managing a team of Lawyers, Trainees and Paralegals whilst managing Housing Disrepair cases at all stages of Pre-Litigation/Litigation
- Ensure compliance with the Housing Disrepair Pre-Action Protocol
- Represent the Council in court and conduct advocacy where appropriate
- Negotiate and draft complex and sensitive agreements and documents in the area of Housing Disrepair and provide clear case strategy on cases
- Assess evidence in relation to Housing disrepair matters and determine the likely prospects of success and the public interest in prosecuting matters
