Overview

Locum Planning Lawyer – Up to £60 per hour umbrella – Initial 3+ months – South East England – Remote Working

Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Planning Lawyer to join a reputable Local Authority in the South East on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support a busy legal team with a variety of Planning matters.

The Role:

Position: Locum Planning Lawyer
Duration: Initial 3 months with strong likelihood of extension
Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella
Working Pattern: Full Time or Part Time, Remote working (occasional office presence desirable but not essential)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on Planning matters including s.106 agreements, enforcement matters, s.73 queries, and lawful development certificates.
  • Acting on behalf of the Council’s clients and providing clear, pragmatic legal guidance.
  • Supporting the team with an increased workload while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and procedures.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with experience in planning law.
  • Previous experience in Local Authority planning teams is highly desirable.
  • Strong drafting, advisory, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confident in managing a varied caseload and delivering clear, pragmatic solutions under tight deadlines.
