Venn Group's specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Property Lawyer to join a Local Authority in the East Midlands on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Property Lawyer to work with a reputable and friendly Local Authority on a flexible basis.
The Role:
- Duration: Initial 3 months with the possibility for extension
- Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella
- Working Pattern: Part Time – 18 hours per week, remote working
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising on commercial and residential property matters, including leases, sub-leases, extensions, terminations, and new grants
- Drafting and negotiating licences, overage agreements, disposals, and development documentation
- Providing advice on Local Government property law matters, including appropriation of land and Secretary of State approvals
- Supporting key property projects and ensuring compliance with internal governance and Local Authority procedures
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with recent public sector or Local Government experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial and residential property law, particularly in a Local Authority context
- Experience drafting and advising on leases, licences, and property agreements
- Excellent drafting, advisory, and stakeholder management skills
