Venn Group's specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Planning and Highways Lawyer to join a Local Authority on an initial 6-month assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planning and Highways Lawyer to join a reputable and friendly Local Authority.
The Role:
- Duration: Initial 6 months with the possibility for extension
- Rate: Β£55βΒ£60 per hour umbrella
- Working Pattern: Full Time
- Onsite Requirement: Weekly office attendance on a Wednesday preferred, but not essential, and monthly planning committee attendance in the Midlands
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting, negotiating, and advising on Section 106 agreements
- Advising on Highways Agreements, including Section 38 and Section 278 agreements
- Providing legal advice and guidance on planning, highways, and related matters
- Supporting internal departments and stakeholders with complex planning and highways queries
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with recent local government or public sector experience
- Strong working knowledge of planning and highways law, including S106, S38, and S278 agreements
- Ability to attend monthly Planning Committees in the Midlands
- Excellent drafting, advisory, and communication skills
