Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Senior Information Governance Officer to join a Local Authority on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Information Governance professional to join a friendly and welcoming team.
The Role
- Duration: Initial 3‑6 months with potential extensions thereafter
- Working Pattern: Full Time, Remote working
- Rate: £50‑55 per hour umbrella
- Start: ASAP start date
Role Responsibilities:
- Advising on routine and complex Information Governance matters
- Providing guidance to officers and wider teams on best practice and relevant legislation
- Supporting the organisation with Information Risk Management
- Assisting with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and maintaining Records of Processing Activities (ROPA)
- Advising on compliance with the Data Security and Protection Toolkit
- Supporting on data management processes and organisational compliance
- Managing and responding to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and Subject Access Requests (SARs)
- Liaising with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) where necessary
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience working within Information Governance, ideally within Local Government or the public sector
- Strong working knowledge of Data Protection legislation, FOI and SAR processes
- Experience advising on DPIAs, ROPA and information risk management frameworks
- Ability to provide clear, practical advice and manage a varied workload independently
