Part Time (18 hours per week) – Up to £60 per hour umbrella – Remote Working – Initial 3 Months+

Venn Group’s specialist Legal team are currently recruiting for a Locum Property Lawyer to join a Local Authority in the East Midlands on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Property Lawyer to work with a reputable and friendly Local Authority on a flexible basis.

The Role:

  • Duration: Initial 3 months with the possibility for extension
  • Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella
  • Working Pattern: Part Time – 18 hours per week, remote working

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on commercial and residential property matters, including leases, sub-leases, extensions, terminations, and new grants
  • Drafting and negotiating licences, overage agreements, disposals, and development documentation
  • Providing advice on Local Government property law matters, including appropriation of land and Secretary of State approvals
  • Supporting key property projects and ensuring compliance with internal governance and Local Authority procedures

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with recent public sector or Local Government experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and residential property law, particularly in a Local Authority context
  • Experience drafting and advising on leases, licences, and property agreements
  • Excellent drafting, advisory, and stakeholder management skills
