We are partnering with a dynamic and growing leading law firm to appoint an experienced Employment Law Director to lead and develop their employment team based in the Staffordshire area.
Role Overview
As the Employment Law Director, you will be responsible for leading the employment legal offering, advising both employee and employer clients on a full spectrum of workplace issues. You will manage your own caseload while also playing a key role in shaping and expanding the service, mentoring junior lawyers, and supporting broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on a wide range of employment matters, including disciplinary and grievance processes, redundancy and consultation issues, unfair and constructive dismissal, discrimination and harassment claims, and TUPE transfers.
- Draft and review employment contracts, policies and handbooks, and offer practical guidance on ill-health absence, restrictive covenants, and employment status.
- Advise on and negotiate settlement agreements for both employees and employers.
- Represent clients at Employment Tribunal hearings and related proceedings.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and professional standards relevant to legal practice.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with at least 5 PQE.
- Strong leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and developing teams.
- Proven ability to nurture client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
- Exceptional attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to delivering outstanding client service.
