Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Test Engineer for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £450/day (Inside IR35). This role will be remote working.
Responsibilities:
- You will be part of an established agile delivery team working to deliver a new public facing digital authorisation application service, associated back-office database and internal back office system.
- This is a fast-paced, delivery-focused role where working independently whilst collaborating effectively within the wider team is key.
Essential Skills:
- Designing and executing a wide range of functional and non-functional testing techniques.
- Communicating test results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Identifying defects, alerting the business to them, and helping to prioritise them based on severity.
- Creating test documentation and continually reviewing the test processes, proactively making improvements to benefit the quality of the project delivery and improve team efficiency.
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries for Oracle database testing.
- Having a good working knowledge of different tools, techniques and frameworks including but not limited to Automated testing frameworks such as Playwright and coding languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript/NodeJS, Cross browser testing tools such as BrowserStack, Test Management Tools such as Azure DevOps Test Plans, Source Code Management tools such as Git.
- Working within agile delivery teams.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience using Azure DevOps pipelines and boards as well as Azure cloud infrastructure and deployments using Azure services.
- Knowledge of Oracle database structures, triggers and stored procedures.
- Experience with performance testing techniques and practices using tools such as JMeter.
- Understanding of Oracle APEX architecture with experience validating application functionality.
- Experience in testing applications built on the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) or Dynamics 365.
- Understanding of Angular with experience validating front-end behaviour and functionality.
