Job Description
Venesky-Brownβs client in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Test Analyst for as soon as possible until the 18th of December 2025 on a rate of Β£450/day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working with at least 2 days per week in the office.
Responsibilities:
β Based on analysis of the requirements, the design and business processes: plan, design, script and execute tests for system, system integration, user acceptance and implementation testing as required.
β Identify and lodge defects, and conduct any re-testing required.
β Build and maintain relationships to ensure effective on-going stakeholder engagement with projects, and support business areas with user acceptance testing.
β Contribute to status reports for the testing they are responsible for.
β Identification and highlighting of risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies.
β Working closely with staff from across the organisation, both technical and business, who are involved in projects.
β Liaising with other team members as part of multi-disciplinary project teams as required, ensuring knowledge transfer and providing input and advice on testing.
β Providing technical expertise in meetings with software and/or hardware suppliers, and with external organisations.
β Providing input to progress reports and contributing specialist knowledge to the test Manager.
β Managing and prioritising personal workload of testing tasks, often working with minimum supervision, within agreed timescales to ensure project deadlines are met.
β Monitor progress against agreed milestones and, in consultation with the test lead, take remedial action to address slippage.
β Some duties may be urgent and reactive, e.g. providing technical assistance to solve critical project/service issues.
β Develop and carry out quality assurance testing on software, working either individually or as part of a wider multi-disciplinary project team, typically working under pressure to meet business deadlines.
β Contributing to projects in a range of different areas in accordance with established project methodology, standards and guidelines, e.g. peer testing, supporting the resolution of business and design issues, providing detailed task estimates as part of agreed estimation process.
β Responding to changing requirement specifications advising of likely impact on workload and deadlines.
β Providing specialist technical input to resolve technically complex or critical support issues when required.
Essential Skills:
β Degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in a computer related subject, or equivalent experience relevant to the job.
β Good software testing skills using relevant tools and technologies.
β Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to absorb complex information and quickly identify the key points.
β Effective communication and interpersonal skills are needed for liaison with others at all levels.
β Strong user focus and team working skills.
β Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and apply these effectively within a variety of business contexts.
β Confidence and flexibility to work under pressure to deliver effective and high-quality software systems.
