Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Stirling, is currently looking to recruit an Evidence & Knowledge Research Assistant for a contract until 31st March 2026 on a rate of £19.40 – £20.80/hour. This role will be home-based but will require for some travel within/to Scotland.

Responsibilities:

– Work within the Research & Evaluation Team to undertake evidence and knowledge projects which support review of existing knowledge, gap analysis, and building data action plans.

– The Research Assistant will support the Head of Research and Evaluation to develop programme of evidence and knowledge built on research, monitoring, evaluation, and innovation insights.

– As a member of the Research and Evaluation Team, the Research Assistant will collaborate with colleagues from across organisation on transformation projects that contribute to operational excellence.

– The Research Assistant will role model organisation’s core values

Essential Skills:

– Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant discipline

– Demonstrable experience of excellent interdisciplinary collegiate and collaborative working

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills which meet the needs of different audiences

– Proven track record of delivery against objectives, strategy, and plans

– Demonstrable success in building trust and forging effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.

– Knowledge of evidence excellence standards, ethics and other relevant policies necessary for delivery of high-quality evidence and knowledge creation and data handling

– Experience of research including analysing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data and developing and implementing workable solutions and actionable insights

– Strong organisational and planning skills

– Experience with information management systems, databases, and relevant software tools. Familiarity with information management standards, protocols, and best practices. Ability to collect, organise, and maintain large datasets with high accuracy and attention to detail.

– Strong organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

– Ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in a dynamic research environment.

Desirable Skills:

– Knowledge and understanding of circular economy economics, research and practice.
