Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, are currently looking to recruit a Senior Programme Manager for an initial 6 month contract on a day rate of £600-£650 (Inside IR35) This role will be hybrid working, 2-3 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities
- To ensure that a thorough and detailed system delivery programme is in place.
- To monitor progress against the plan and report on any elements that are running behind schedule or budget.
- To identify and working with the Programme Director manage risks, issues, and the programme schedule to meet the Client’s expectations.
- To work with our key stakeholders, clients, teams to create an environment for continual improvement.
- To provide project/programme assurance & controls. Proactively champion good project discipline, applied in an engaging and supportive manner across all stakeholders.
- Oversee the PMO process implementation and ensures that information concerning content (e. g., deliverables, risks, challenges) passes to and from sponsors.
- Improving the consistency, predictability, and efficiency of the organisation project delivery capability.
- Ensure that the operational challenges of the PMO are managed, focusing on the project -interface with project leaders, project teams, technology, and interface issues.
- Accountable for projects planning, risk management, cost management, and quality tracking. Management of the associated documentation, processes, and team engagement.
- Working with the organisations stakeholders’ existing creation and management of programme information, templates, and tools.
- Assists in budget related, demand funnel and pre-project planning discussions cross-organisation.
- Refining plans with sponsors and stakeholders to determine executable profiles along with re-balancing as required.
- Working closely and collaboratively with all Stakeholder Project Managers to ensure consistent and coordinated transition through project lifecycle gates.
- Programme Reporting and preparation of materials for governance.
- Assists and works closely with the wider stakeholders and other programme teams with detailed oversight of programme planning.
- Lead and coordinate the gathering, recording and implementation of lessons learned culture across the division.
Essential Skills
- Will have the integrity, skills, judgement, and credibility as well as technical competence to build a detailed programme taking numerous inputs not necessarily in the same format from multiple stakeholders.
- Strong team player with the ability to build positive and effective relationships both internally and externally.
- Comprehensive Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Strong IT skills with experience of Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Programme Management tools
A degree-level qualification would be advantageous but is by no means essential.
- Excellent communication skills with exceptional standard of written and verbal English – must have strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including working with a wide range of people and building positive relationships.
- Resilient with ability to take initiative and meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Experience in production of programmes.
