Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh / Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Programme Manager for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £600/day (Inside IR35). This role will be remote working.

Responsibilities:

  • Programme Brief and Programme Mandate
  • Defined Vision, Outcomes and Benefits Profiles
  • Implement Programme Governance (programme board, roles, decision rights) and clear explanation of dependencies with projects/programmes in the 6 service areas
  • Programme Blueprint - Tranche structure and high-level Programme Plan
  • Stakeholder map and Engagement & Communications Strategy
  • Risk, assumptions, issue, dependency and assurance approach aligned to department standards
  • Procurement strategy linking programme delivery approach to the proposed contract structure
  • Work at pace, engage senior stakeholders, integrate with procurement and assurance functions, and produce clear, decision‑ready artefacts enabling successful transition into formal procurement and subsequent delivery.

Essential Skills:

  • Evidence of long term (multi-year) management of broad scope, high value, complex digital programmes
  • Responsibility for delivery of multiple sub-projects within the programme that are outcome based
  • Management of Programme level budgets, resources, risks, issues and dependencies
  • Plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on programme-related activities. Ensures effective governance arrangements, reporting, communication and customer engagement are in place.
  • Ensures that programmes are managed to realise agreed business benefits within agreed timescales.
  • Plans, directs and co-ordinates activities to manage and implement programmes from initiation to final transition into BAU
  • Management and responsibility for programme level budgets
  • MSP or equivalent
  • Strong communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills
  • Evidence of engagement with senior stakeholders
  • Influencing, negotiating and mediation skills
