Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation with offices across Scotland, is currently looking to recruit 8 x Information Disclosure Officers for 12 month contracts on rates of £19.04/hour (PAYE). These roles will be hybrid based after training has been completed onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Log requests for information under relevant legislation and logging ongoing monitoring information received relating to PVG scheme members.
  • Search for, assess for relevancy and log information from local and corporate information systems or from other departments.
  • Make recommendations whether to disclose information under PVG/Part V, DBS/ANI and compose recommended disclosure text, and articulate the rationale for recommendations following QAF guidance.
  • Peer review recommendations by other Information Disclosure Officers for 'no disclosures' under PVG/Part V, DBS/ANI and sign off where in agreement.
  • Compose and dispatch responses to requests made under the terms of Freedom of Information and Data Protection legislation as directed.
  • Prepare and publish information on the Freedom of Information publication scheme, including publication of responses to requests on the disclosure log.
  • Process, check and despatch requests for information made under the terms of the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Will be responsible for assessing and self-managing risk within all aspects of the role.

Essential Skills:

  • Educated to Higher level or equivalent with relevant experience. OR In the absence of formal qualifications, relevant working experience is required in order to support familiarisation and on the job training for the role.
  • A knowledge and understanding of the legislative frameworks and practices that underpin Freedom of Information disclosure, PVG/Part V disclosure and Data Protection.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of first line management.
