Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit an Electrician (Facilities) for a Permanent contract on a salary of £38,197.00 - £41,804.00 Per Annum.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventative maintenance and repair on equipment in all areas (within competency) as directed by supervisor.
  • Diagnose, complete remedial works and repair faults as appropriate.
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems, lighting, control systems and plant.
  • Undertake basic elements of joinery, plumbing, painting, fabric repairs and ground maintenance.
  • Carry out water temperature checks and minor remedial works to ensure compliance with HSE Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L8 for controlling legionella disease.6.

Co-ordinate with contractors on-site including carrying out contractor’s briefings.

  • Required to work at height and use the appropriate access equipment in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and job logs.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety legislation, electrical regulations and company procedures.

Essential Skills

  • 18 Edition Regulation course
  • Knowledge of electrical processes and procedures
  • General Electrical experience
  • Experience of workplace paperwork and systems
  • Computer literate
  • Self-motivated, ability to work without immediate supervision
  • Ability to plan work, operate in a changing environment and react effectively to changing demands
  • Good verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Prepared to have a flexible and multi skilled approach to work in relation to duties and working hours when required
  • Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
  • Willingness to work additional hours if required due to operational necessity. This may involve an element of evening work and weekend work
  • Full UK valid Driving Licence

Desirable Skills

  • Higher Level A-C or equivalent in English and Maths
  • General Plumbing experience
  • Similar environment experience
  • Experience of using access equipment and mobile platforms with IPAF and PAMSA certification
  • Excellent standard of Customer Care
