Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, is currently looking to recruit a Service Designer until the 31st of March 2026 on a rate of £25.96 - £30.22/hour PAYE – working 35 hours per week. This role will be remote working, candidates should be UK based.
Responsibilities:
- Use design thinking, methods and tools to solve problems: both large and complex such as connecting seemingly unconnected concepts and organisations; and small and detailed such as the logistics of a pilot.
- Plan, organise and facilitate user research, co-design workshops and events: bringing together individuals, partners and stakeholders to unpick challenges and identify new solutions.
- Enable co-leadership for individuals: Designing solutions that enable individuals themselves to co-lead research and service design activity.
- Synthesise research results into insights, themes, service opportunities and design principles.
- Use research/insights to identify inspiring new solutions.
- Develop well specified concepts, blueprints and prototypes.
- Communicate findings and ideas with internal and external stakeholders and influence thinking.
- Work closely with cross functional teams to define the detail of services, e.g. prototyping and creating specifications.
- Champion, demonstrate and build capacity in the design process for stakeholders, partners and colleagues.
Essential Skills:
- Have demonstrable work experience equivalent to SCQF level 9 or be educated to degree level in design.
- Experience of using the design process in service or product development.
- Experience of delivering new service or product designs.
- Experience in planning and leading design projects.
- Knowledge of service design processes and related disciplines.
- Well versed in Adobe Creative Suite including; Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
