Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Portfolio Analyst for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of c.£350/day (Inside IR35). This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure portfolio information is accurate, timely and structured to enable senior decision making
- Provide integrated insight across planning, risk, benefits and change readiness
- Facilitate integration across PMO disciplines in terms of planning, resource management, benefits tracking, business cases, risk and assurance
- Support continuous improvement of PMO tools, templates and processes
- Engage proactively with internal stakeholders to gather information, build alignment and share best practice.
Essential Skills:
- Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent work experience
- Strong analytical capability with ability to interpret multiple data sources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly across a wide range of PMO disciplines (planning, risk, benefits, change, assurance)
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, concise insight for non-technical audiences
- Experience in PMO, project, programme or portfolio support environments
- Experience supporting planning, business cases or structured reporting
- Experience tracking benefits or contributing to organisational change support
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and planning tools
Desirable Skills:
- Professional certifications (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, MoR, MSP)
- Experience preparing governance papers or supporting assurance events
- Knowledge / experience of public sector governance frameworks
