Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit 5 x Qualified Audit Officers for up to 3 months contracts on rates of c.£300/day (Inside IR35).
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to planning, development and delivery of audit work, supporting the production of outputs to agreed cost, timescales and quality standards.
- Conduct audit fieldwork, evidence gathering and analysis using appropriate techniques to answer audit questions.
- Assist with designing fieldwork activity, e.g. developing interview schedules and other audit tools.
- Assist with and summarise evidence and analysis to identify key themes and make audit judgements.
- Present clear and evidence-based findings for use in audit outputs.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders from the relevant audit areas to ensure information is obtained accurately and on time.
A part (exam qualified) or fully qualified accountant (CIPFA, ICAS, other CCAB, CIMA or equivalent). You will preferably have practical experience of delivering quality audits; ideally in a public sector environment.
You can think laterally and creatively to research and analyse complex problems and recommend practical solutions. You’ll have well developed analytical skills and the ability to convert analysis into clear judgement along with the ability to contribute to the drafting of audit reports.
You know how to work seamlessly within a multi-disciplinary audit team and help to bring out the best in your colleagues. Prioritise; working on more than one project at a time with multiple deadlines and sometimes for multiple managers.
Use accountancy, financial management, research, information gathering and analysis skills. Use data analysis tools, for example Excel. Use problem solving skills to generate effective solutions for your clients, stakeholders and colleagues.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Be proficient in using the software necessary to carry out audit work such as Microsoft Office. Be able to apply professional judgement and exercise professional scepticism.
Plan and manage your own work to time, cost and quality with the minimum of supervision.
