Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Business Support Assistant for an initial 3 month contract on a rate of £15.24/hour (PAYE). This role will be office based.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring visitors are offered refreshments, signed in, advised of location of facilities etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring the office is presentable, tidy and well maintained. Liaising with external suppliers when necessary (cleaning company etc).
  • Responsible for ensuring that kitchen areas are presentable, well maintained and fridges and cupboards regularly cleared and cleaned. Ensuring recycling is separated and sorted.
  • Arranging courier services for colleagues when required.
  • Maintaining stationery and general office supplies – conducting regular stock checks.
  • Supporting internal meetings, arranging dates, circulating agendas and papers when directed.
  • Assisting the Finance team in preparing and processing expense claims and purchase orders.
  • Providing support to the Procurement Manager, including maintaining databases and scheduling training.
  • Managing the main enquiries inbox and answering all e-mails in a timely manner.

Essential Skills:

  • Educated to HND level
  • Commitment and desire to study towards relevant business administration qualifications.
  • Able to work calmly and efficiently whilst under pressure.
  • Able to produce quality work with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to take personal responsibility and accountability.
  • At ease with technology and willing to learn.
  • Microsoft Office experience in an educational or vocational environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • HND (relevant business field)
  • Degree
  • Customer service experience.
