Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Dundee, is currently looking to recruit a Digital and Communications Officer for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £24.89- £27.04/hour (PAYE). This role will be hybrid based with 2 days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
- Support communications and digital colleagues to develop and deliver a proactive corporate communications plan which will raise the brand among key audiences and stakeholders using traditional and digital platforms; and ensure colleagues are fully informed about relevant corporate activities.
- Ensure the content of the website is current, accurate and engaging and that its functionality quickly evolves and develops to support user requirements and our digital first aspiration.
- Deliver and manage the engagement of key stakeholders to identify communication opportunities in respect of our activities, which will demonstrate how we are delivering our strategic priorities. Develop and deliver clear and relevant proactive communications, using traditional and digital communication channels.
- Ensure all colleagues develop an understanding of communication opportunities, and communications skills through the proactive provision of briefings, training and support.
- Support the management of digital and communications contracts to acts as an intelligent customer at all times.
- Respond to media inquiries as required.
- In line with organisational priorities and needs, work as part of a flexible team to perform other tasks as required.
Essential Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience of writing communication content, including media releases; website content and social media posts.
- Experience of using data analysis in respect of website and social media platforms to enhance content and functionality
- Contract management experience
- Excellent collaborative working experience.
- Experience of working within a culture of continuous improvement
