Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Falkirk, is currently looking to recruit a Chef for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £14.26/hour PAYE. This role will be based onsite in Falkirk.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of food and beverages.
- Cooking of meals for a variety of private and corporate clients in accordance with menus and costings.
- Organisation, presentation and serving of food.
- To maintain health and safety and hygiene in all public areas and assist in the event of an emergency.
- To undertake general kitchen and service area/dining area cleaning, following approved schedule, including washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and crockery and cleaning of service specific equipment.
- To advise customers of products and services available and actively promote the venues.
- To provide high standards of customer service and care so that the reputation of the service is enhanced and sales targets are met.
- Allocation of work to Kitchen Porter in food handling, preparation and service.
Essential Skills:
- A good understanding of the operational requirements of a small/medium catering facility.
- Required to hold an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Can demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the Cooksafe Food Safety Assurance System.
- Have previous food preparation and serving experience and customer service.
- Relevant hospitality and/or catering experience.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in working in a conference or hospitality setting.
