Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Aviemore, is currently looking to recruit a Community Works Operative - Waste for an initial 2 months contract on a rate of £14.12/hour (PAYE). The working pattern for this role is 7am – 3.00pm – Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Loading behind Refuse/Recycling Lorry
  • Street scene management
  • Working at a Household Recycling Centre/Transfer Station or Landfill
  • Collection of bulky items and fly tipping removal
  • Deliver/Uplift Recycling/Refuse containers
  • Basic record keeping or other administrative duties as required
  • Uplift of animal carcasses
  • Any other work as directed by Supervisor/Foreperson

Essential Skills:

  • Awareness of Health & Safety within a working environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and the public
  • Good level of fitness
  • Able to manage simple forms and paperwork as required

Desirable Skills:

  • Full valid UK Driver’s License if possible
  • Educational qualification or equivalent to a Scottish National 4 or better
