Venesky-Browns client, a public sector organisation in Ayr, is currently looking to recruit a Seasonal Gardener for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £13.79/hour PAYE working 36 hours per week, Monday to Thursday. These roles will be based onsite in Girvan.
Responsibilities:
- General maintenance including grass cutting and ground maintenance
- Assisting higher graded gardeners under minimal supervision
- Following oral and written instructions from the Chargehand and Foreman
- Operation of ground care equipment, powered hand tools, ride on plant machinery including inspection, routine maintenance and cleaning
- Implement good Health & Safety Practices & Standards in the workplace
- To apply and adhere to policies and procedures
- Ensure adherence to relevant legislation, external policy and safe practices
- To carry out such other duties consistent with the post if and when required or instructed
Essential Skills:
- Able to work as part of a small team
- Able to adapt within a flexible working environment
- Ability to meet the standards of performance required under the Values and Behaviours of the organisation
- Experience of communicating effectively with colleagues and members of the public
- Experience of customer care
- Experience of problem solving within the working environment
- Experience in working in all weather conditions
- Experience of operating mechanised ground care equipment
- Proven Technical Understanding of Horticultural and grounds maintenance practice
