Venesky-Brownβs client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit an HR Project Lead for an initial 8 month contract with possible extension on a rate of c.Β£500/day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working with 2-3 days per week in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver the HR related tasks and activities that enable the successful delivery of the Leadership Structure and Organisational Design workstreams within the Advance Programme.
- Take responsibility for developing, in line with Policy and advice, the end-to-end process for the implementation of the revised Leadership structure and provide resource and support to implement the changes, working with the CEO, the Advance Programme SRO and Head of People.
- Take responsibility for developing, in line with Policy and advice, the end-to-end process for the implementation of the organisational design changes to support implementation of Corporate Plan 2026-31 and provide resource and support to implement the changes, working with the Directors, the Advance Programme SRO and Head of People.
- Support the development of the Strategic Workforce Plan and take the lead in the development and implementation of workforce planning templates, tools, and processes in line with Business Planning processes working closely with the Head of People.
- Take the lead in the review of job evaluation guidance, framework, and timeline with the Head of People.
- Preparing and controlling appropriate tracking in line with Programme governance to provide assurance in relation to progress of work and/or escalate risks and issues.
- Provide advice, guidance and support to the CEO, the Programme SRO, and the Advance Board in relation to the workstreams the role is supporting.
- Other matters as appropriate and necessary to support the implementation of the specific workstreams, the Advance Programme overall and alignment with the business-as-usual People Team.
Essential Skills:
- An experienced HR professional who has proven experience in developing and leading organisational change at leadership and organisational level, providing leadership on organisational change in relation to people and culture.
- An individual with proven experience of workforce planning, establishment management, and job evaluation processes.
- Experience working in a project/programme management environment.
- An individual who has experience of engaging with senior management (CES, Directors, Senior Managers) to lead and implement work, and to provide advice and support.
- Able to flex between championing these areas of work but with a key focus on doing and delivering (as a small organisation all colleagues need to be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting hands on).
- Able to form professional, respectful, and supportive relationships with colleagues irrespective of seniority.
- Comfortable coaching and mentoring colleagues with less experience, adopting a collaborative and inclusive approach.
- Strong leadership behaviours - Flexible mindset. Resilient.
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience - HR professional.
Desirable Skills:
- Chartered membership (level 7) CIPD preferred.
