We are looking for an experienced Atlassian Administrator to take ownership of a Jira Service Management environment on an initial 3-month contract. This role will be based in London, requiring 3 days per week onsite, and is paying £400–£550 per day inside IR35.
You will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and improving Jira workflows, service projects, automation, reporting, permissions, and integrations across the Atlassian suite. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Jira Service Management, Jira Software, and Confluence, with the ability to work closely with IT, engineering, product, support, and wider business teams to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage, configure, and maintain Jira Service Management projects, queues, request types, SLAs, customer portals, approval workflows, and automation rules.
- Design and optimise Jira workflows, screens, fields, issue types, permission schemes, notification schemes, and project configurations.
- Support incident, request, change, and problem management processes within Jira Service Management.
- Work with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Atlassian configurations.
- Create and maintain dashboards, reports, filters, and service metrics to improve visibility and decision-making.
- Manage user access, roles, groups, permissions, and security controls across Jira and Confluence.
- Administer Confluence spaces, permissions, templates, and knowledge base integrations with Jira Service Management.
- Support integrations between Jira and third-party tools such as Slack, Teams, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, CI/CD tools, monitoring platforms, and identity providers.
- Maintain marketplace apps, plugins, and add-ons, ensuring they are fit for purpose, secure, and cost-effective.
- Troubleshoot Jira issues, workflow errors, automation failures, and user access queries.
- Ensure Atlassian best practices are followed across configuration, governance, documentation, and change control.
- Create documentation, training materials, and user guidance for internal teams.
- Strong experience as a Jira / Atlassian Administrator, with a focus on Jira Service Management.
- Hands-on experience configuring JSM service projects, customer portals, request types, SLAs, queues, approvals, and automation.
- Good understanding of ITSM processes, including incident management, request fulfilment, change management, and problem management.
- Experience managing Jira workflows, custom fields, screens, schemes, permissions, dashboards, and reports.
- Experience with Confluence administration and knowledge base configuration.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work with technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex Jira configuration and user issues.
- Good documentation and process improvement skills.
- Atlassian certifications such as ACP-120, ACP-420, ACP-620, or similar.
- Experience with Jira Cloud migration or Data Center to Cloud migration.
- Experience with ScriptRunner, Assets, Insight, Automation for Jira, or other Atlassian Marketplace apps.
- Experience integrating Jira with identity providers such as Okta, Azure AD, or Google Workspace.
- Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, ITIL, or service management best practices.
- Experience working in a regulated, fintech, SaaS, or technology-led environment.
