A UK-based bank is looking for a hands-on Cyber Security Network Engineer to join its IT team.

The role will take ownership of the bank’s technical security posture, protecting critical banking systems and managing key network and application security platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage vulnerability scanning, triage, remediation tracking and reporting.
  • Own and maintain security infrastructure including Cisco Firepower, F5 ASM/WAF and Citrix Net Scaler.
  • Monitor and investigate SIEM alerts, supporting SOC escalation and incident response.
  • Develop and tune detection rules, use cases and alert logic.
  • Maintain secure configuration baselines across Windows, Linux/Unix and network devices.
  • Design and audit network segmentation across critical banking environments including SWIFT, card processing and core banking.
  • Support change management, including technical documentation, testing, impact assessments and rollback planning.
  • Carry out security reviews, threat modelling and penetration test remediation tracking.

Experience Required

  • 5+ years’ network engineering experience with a strong cyber security focus.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco Firepower, F5 ASM/WAF and Citrix Net Scaler.
  • Good understanding of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, TCP/IP, TLS, SSH and IPsec.
  • Experience in banking, financial services or another regulated environment is highly desirable.
  • Oracle Flexcube or Oracle Banking Digital Experience experience would be beneficial.
  • Desired Certifications
  • CISSP, CISM, CEH, CCNP Security, Cisco Firepower, F5 or Citrix networking certifications would be useful.
