My client, a high-performance buy-side firm, is scaling its technology function to meet the demands of increasingly complex challenges across research, trading, and operations. This is a unique opportunity to take a senior leadership role in a fast-paced, intellectually rigorous environment where technology sits at the heart of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow a high-calibre engineering function, ensuring the delivery of scalable, reliable, and secure systems that support the firm's investment and operational strategies.
- Partner closely with Quants, Portfolio Managers, and Stakeholders to understand technical needs and shape long-term architectural direction.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, system design, and operational excellence.
- Oversee the full engineering lifecycle - from idea generation and prototyping through to delivery and ongoing support.
- Help define the broader technology roadmap and contribute to firmwide strategic decisions at the leadership level.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role within a hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or similar high-performance financial services environment.
- Strong background in leading teams solving complex engineering problems, ideally across both front-office and enterprise technology.
- Comfortable working in fast-moving, high-stakes environments with tight feedback loops and daily evolving priorities.
- Ability to balance hands-on involvement with strategic oversight.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
