Venatu Automotive are recruiting a permanent Class 2 Driver (Category C) on behalf of our client, with full support provided by Sally Maxwell throughout the recruitment process through to offer stage.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for the safe collection and delivery of refrigerated trucks and cold storage containers to customer sites, depots, warehouses, and industrial locations. This is a reactive transport environment, requiring flexibility, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service. You will use modern digital systems to complete all delivery and collection records, ensuring accurate tracking, POD completion, and clear communication throughout the working day.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 2 (Category C) vehicles for the collection and delivery of refrigerated rental equipment
- Collect and deliver vehicles, trucks, and cold storage containers to customer sites
- Complete electronic PODs using company mobile devices (signatures, photos, tracking, and job updates)
- Carry out pre-collection and pre-delivery vehicle inspections
- Ensure all equipment is clean, roadworthy, and presented to company standards
- Remove waste and carry out basic clean-downs of returned units
- Complete daily vehicle checks and defect reporting in line with company procedures
- Secure loads correctly and comply with all transport and health & safety regulations
- Communicate professionally with customers and transport planners regarding schedules, delays, and site access
- Adapt to changing workloads in a fast-paced, reactive transport environment
- Maintain full compliance with driver hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive regulations
- Represent the company in a professional manner at all times, delivering strong customer service
Working Hours
Monday to Friday (no weekends)
Start times: 07:00 – 08:00
Finish times: 17:00 – 18:00
Guaranteed 45 hours per week
Additional hours available depending on business requirements
No nights out required
Pay & Benefits
£13.75 per hour

Basic annual salary: £32,175
Any hours worked over 45 per week paid at standard hourly rate

Requirements
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
- In-date CPC qualification
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Drivers must be over 21 years old (insurance requirement)
- Maximum 3 penalty points (no DR or IN endorsements)
- Strong understanding of driver hours and tachograph regulations
- Comfortable using smartphones and mobile devices for work purposes
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious approach
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Flexible and adaptable to changing workloads
Desirable Experience
- Previous Class 2 driving experience
- Experience delivering or collecting vehicles, trailers, or containers
- Experience using electronic POD systems or driver apps
- Knowledge of refrigerated equipment or cold storage logistics advantageous
