Engineering Manager – Scunthorpe – Circa £52,000 plus quarterly bonus (earn up to £58,000 per annum)
We are working with a leading manufacturer in Scunthorpe who are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position offering excellent career prospects and strong employee benefits.

Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 14:30
The role
As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of 8 engineers, ensuring maintenance and engineering operations run smoothly and efficiently. This is a hands-on management role where you will be expected to balance planning, team leadership, and technical oversight. While based primarily at the Scunthorpe facility, the role will also involve travel to additional sites as required.
Engineering Manager – Key responsibilities

Managing and developing a team of engineers, providing training and support where required

Planning workloads and prioritising tasks to minimise disruption to production

Ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance is completed to a high standard

Monitoring budgets and controlling departmental costs

Coordinating with suppliers to ensure materials and parts are sourced efficiently

Driving continuous improvement, reducing downtime and wastage wherever possible

Overseeing long-term projects and scheduled shutdown works

Supporting engineering requirements across multiple sites when needed

Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety procedures
About you

Proven experience in an engineering management role within a manufacturing environment

Strong mechanical or electrical background with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and building services

Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Competent in Microsoft Office and familiar with planned and reactive maintenance systems

Strong organisational skills with the ability to make effective decisions under pressure
