We are looking for an experienced and motivated Fire Systems Engineer to join a growing engineering team covering the Hull area. This role is ideal for someone with strong fault finding skills and proven experience working on commercial and residential fire alarm systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintenance, repairs, fault finding, and small works installation across a range of fire and security systems. You will attend planned preventative maintenance visits, reactive breakdowns, and emergency callouts while ensuring systems remain fully compliant with current industry standards and customer requirements.
This position offers the opportunity to work with both conventional and addressable fire alarm systems, with additional exposure to emergency lighting, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms. The ideal candidate will be confident working independently, while also supporting the wider engineering team when required.
- Conduct site surveys to assess fire risks and identify system requirements
- Design fire alarm and suppression systems in line with industry standards and regulations
- Install fire alarm and suppression systems including detectors, control panels, and suppression equipment
- Test and commission systems to ensure correct functionality and performance
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs on fire alarm systems
- Complete small works installations and system upgrades
Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm and suppression systems is required, along with:
- Electrical installation qualifications such as City & Guilds 2391
- Fire alarm installation certification such as BAFE SP203-1
- Previous experience working as a Fire Systems Engineer
- Experience working with Gent fire alarm systems
- Knowledge of CCTV, access control, emergency lighting, and intruder alarms
Competitive salary of £45,000 plus bonus. Overtime available at enhanced rates. Travel time paid. No callout rota. Bonus scheme.
