We are recruiting for a skilled Body Maker / Coach Builder to join an established engineering team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Whether you’re fabricating components, repairing damaged bodywork or achieving a high-quality paint finish, we’re looking for someone who believes in doing the job properly and taking pride in the finished result.

The Role

Working across a varied vehicle fleet, you’ll carry out a broad range of coach building, fabrication, body repair, refurbishment and paintwork.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coach and vehicle body repairs and refurbishment
  • Fabrication and modification of metal components
  • MIG welding and general fabrication
  • Repairing and replacing damaged body panels
  • Panel beating and accident damage repairs
  • Preparing vehicles and panels for painting
  • Sanding, filling, masking and priming
  • Paint spraying and achieving a professional-quality finish
  • Repairing and replacing internal and external body components
  • Identifying defects and determining the best repair solution
  • Carrying out general coach body maintenance
  • Ensuring work is completed safely and to a consistently high standard

What Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about quality, has excellent attention to detail and takes genuine pride in their workmanship.

Ideally, you’ll have experience in some or all of the following:

  • Bus or coach body repairs
  • Commercial vehicle bodywork
  • Vehicle fabrication
  • MIG welding
  • Metal fabrication and panel work
  • Panel beating and accident damage repair
  • Paint preparation and spray painting

Previous experience working with coaches, buses or commercial vehicles would be advantageous.

However, we’d also love to hear from experienced candidates from automotive bodyshops, HGV/commercial vehicle repair, fabrication or similar backgrounds who have the right transferable skills.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who cares about the quality of their work, doesn’t cut corners, can use their own initiative and wants to become a valued, long-term member of the team.
