The Opportunity

Venatu Executive is partnering with a leading passenger transport operator to appoint a Deputy Engineering Manager to support the delivery of engineering excellence within a busy fleet operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to join a progressive organisation operating a modern fleet, including low-emission and electric vehicles. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining fleet reliability, driving operational performance, and supporting the ongoing development of engineering teams.

  • A sound understanding of health and safety legislation and engineering compliance requirements.
  • The ability to plan workloads, prioritise tasks, and make informed operational decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to leadership and performance improvement.
  • Experience within the bus or passenger transport sector would be advantageous, although candidates from HGV, commercial vehicle, rail, plant, defence, or similar industries are encouraged to apply.

What the Role Involves

As Deputy Engineering Manager, you will support the Engineering Manager in the day-to-day leadership of the engineering operation, ensuring the fleet is maintained safely, efficiently, and in line with all regulatory and company standards. Key responsibilities include:
