Venatu Executive is working in partnership with a well-established organisation to appoint an experienced senior engineering leader who is passionate about developing teams, improving performance, and ensuring the delivery of a safe, reliable, and efficient engineering function.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Engineering Director and forming part of the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping engineering performance across the business. You will take responsibility for ensuring engineering operations are delivered to the highest standards, aligned with industry best practice and evolving regulatory requirements. A visible and engaged leadership approach will be essential, working closely with site-based teams and wider stakeholders to understand operational challenges and drive continuous improvement. This is a role that requires both strategic oversight and hands-on leadership, ensuring engineering capability is developed, performance is optimised, and service delivery remains consistently strong across multiple locations.
About You
You will be an accomplished engineering professional with extensive leadership experience and a strong technical background. While experience within the passenger transport or bus sector would be advantageous, we are equally interested in candidates from other fleet-based industries who can bring transferable expertise. A proven ability to lead, inspire and develop teams is essential. You will have a track record of creating a positive, collaborative culture, driving performance, and supporting the growth and development of engineering professionals at all levels. You will possess a solid understanding of engineering compliance, health and safety legislation, quality standards and operational best practices. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks within transport or fleet environments, together with an appreciation of industry standards and stakeholder requirements, would be highly beneficial. Experience overseeing engineering operations across multiple locations is important, with the ability to balance strategic objectives, operational efficiency, resource planning and service delivery within a complex environment.
