The Company
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and reputable plant hire company based in St Helens, known for supplying and maintaining high-quality powered access and plant equipment. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a skilled Depot Workshop Engineer to their team.

The Role
As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of powered access equipment β including scissor lifts, cherry pickers, boom lifts, and telehandlers.
Working within a small, friendly depot team, you will ensure all machinery is maintained to a high standard, safe to use, and ready for hire. This is a hands-on role that would suit someone mechanically minded, with some electrical knowledge and a proactive attitude.
Key Responsibilities
Service, repair, and maintain a fleet of powered access equipment (scissor lifts, cherry pickers, booms, telehandlers).
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, carrying out repairs efficiently.
Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) to ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards.
Keep accurate service and maintenance records.
Work closely with the depot team to ensure smooth operations and timely dispatch of machinery.
Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and safe working practices.
Requirements
Essential: Valid IPAF qualification.
Previous experience working in a plant hire workshop or powered access environment.
Strong mechanical skills, with some basic electrical experience.
Team player with good communication and organisational skills.
Committed to maintaining a safe, tidy, and efficient workspace.
