Van Driver – Southampton (SO30)
We are currently recruiting for a Van Driver to join a busy automotive parts distribution team based in the Southampton (SO30) area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for consistent work with the potential for a permanent position.
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
Pay Frequency: Weekly, every Friday
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent opportunities available
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 05:30 – 15:30
Job Description
As a Van Driver, you will be responsible for the delivery and collection of bulk car parts to customers in the local area. This is a physically demanding role that requires regular lifting and manual handling of items such as brake pads, brake discs, nuts, bolts, interior and exterior mirrors, oils, and car batteries. You will complete up to 15 drops per shift, ensuring all deliveries are made safely, efficiently, and accurately. Once deliveries are complete, you will return to the depot to assist with general warehouse duties for the remainder of your shift.
Main Responsibilities
- Load and unload vehicle safely and securely.
- Deliver bulk car parts to garages, dealerships, and trade customers in a timely manner.
- Carry out vehicle checks and report any defects immediately.
- Provide excellent customer service at every delivery point.
- Assist with warehouse operations, including stock handling, picking, and packing.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 points, no major endorsements).
- Previous experience in a multi-drop driving role is desirable.
- Physically fit and able to carry out heavy lifting.
- Good geographical knowledge of Southampton and surrounding areas.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
