Job Summary
Our client, a leading provider in crane and lifting equipment solutions, is seeking a skilled and experienced Crane and Lifting Equipment Technician to join their Flying Squad. The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of cranes and lifting equipment, ensuring safety and performance standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Commission, maintain, inspect, and service client cranes and lifting equipment onshore and offshore.
- Perform repairs and inspections on electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Fault finding and repairs on electrical and hydro-mechanical equipment.
- Assist in spares identification and procurement.
- Produce detailed reports for all jobs.
- Rigging and lift planning.
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ requirements.
- Collaborate with site staff to maintain safety standards.
- Minimise environmental risks, especially offshore.
- Travel outside the UK/Ireland for departmental support or training.
Skills & Competencies
- Apprentice-trained in Mechanical, Electrical, or Hydraulic Engineering.
- Experience in the crane industry; familiarity with Liebherr, Gottwald cranes is an advantage.
- Proficient in commissioning and fault finding on electro-mechanical/hydro-mechanical systems.
- Ability to read schematics and engineering drawings.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- BOSIET and MIST trained.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance on cranes.
- Familiarity with load monitoring equipment like MIPEG and PAT.
- IT skills and report-writing ability.
- Valid UK/Ireland driving license.
