The Role
Due to continued growth, an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer is sought to join the in‑house design team. This is a varied and engaging role, offering the opportunity to work on multiple projects at different stages, from initial concept and detailed design through to fabrication support and site delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Structural design and checking of steelwork in accordance with relevant UK design codes and standards
- Producing calculations, drawings, and technical documentation to support fabrication and construction
- Managing and prioritising multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians where required
- Liaising closely with clients, architects, contractors, and other design team members to resolve technical and develop efficient design solutions
- Working collaboratively with fabrication and construction teams to ensure designs are practical, buildable, and cost‑effective
- Contributing to project planning, programme coordination, and cost awareness throughout the project lifecycle
What We’re Looking For
- Chartered Structural Engineer with a minimum of 3 years post‑graduate experience
- Strong background in structural steelwork design, including familiarity with relevant design codes and industry‑standard software
- Excellent technical and analytical skills, with a practical approach to problem‑solving
- Ability to manage workload effectively, delegate tasks where appropriate, and maintain oversight of project delivery
