We are looking for an experienced HGV Workshop Controller to join a busy and well-established workshop in Inverness. With 4 bays, 2 ramps, and a team of 8 skilled technicians, this is a great opportunity to step into a key leadership role within a supportive and well-equipped environment.
In this position, you will spend around 80% of your time off the tools and 20% on the tools, ensuring smooth workshop operations, maintaining high-quality repair standards, and supporting day-to-day activities.
What We Offer
- £45,000 annual salary
- Overtime paid at x1.5, and double time on Sundays

Key Responsibilities
- Delegate and allocate work to technicians ensuring efficient daily workflow
- Carry out quality checks on completed work, maintaining high workshop standards
- Undertake some hands-on repair and diagnostic tasks when required
- Oversee workshop compliance with health and safety procedures
- Support and mentor technicians, helping develop skills and performance
- Liaise closely with the service and parts teams to maintain smooth operations
- Review and sign off job cards, service records, and other workshop documentation
- Ensure turnaround times and productivity targets are met
About You
- Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Supervisor, Senior Technician, or similar
- Strong technical background working with HGVs (LCV experience beneficial)
- Confident in delegating work and leading a busy workshop team
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- High attention to detail, particularly around quality and compliance
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced commercial workshop environment
