Venatu Recruitment are proud to announce that a new, industry leading client of ours is now in the market for a new Fire Resistance Technical Report Writer to join them as soon as possible! The client is a world-leading centre for building science, innovation, and sustainability. Founded in 1921, we provide research, testing, certification, and consultancy services to improve the safety, quality, and environmental performance of the built environment. As a profit-for-purpose organisation, their work supports the BRE Trust — funding research and education that drives positive change across the construction and real estate sectors. Their own internationally recognised standards help shape a more sustainable future for buildings, infrastructure, and comm unities worldwide.
Due to the consistent growth and expansion they\’re seeing, they\’re now in the market for a Fire Resistance Technical Report Writer to join them!
This is a permanent position paying circa £35k per annum.
Responsibilities
- Prepare clear, accurate, and detailed technical reports summarising fire resistance test results in accordance with relevant British, European, and international standards (e.g., BS, EN, ISO).
- Review and interpret test data, observations, and measurements to produce comprehensive technical evaluations.
- Ensure all reports meet quality, accuracy, and compliance requirements, following internal procedures and external accreditation standards (e.g., UKAS).
- Liaise with laboratory engineers, project managers, and clients to clarify technical details and reporting requirements.
- Maintain consistency and integrity in technical documentation, ensuring traceability of data and test evidence.
- Manage workload to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
Candidate profile
- Science / engineering graduate or equivalent work experience
- Technical report writing skills
- Proficient at Word, Excel and Sharepoint
- Technical knowledge of fire resistance testing
- Technical knowledge of fire resistance products
- Experience in an ISO 17025 environment
