They pioneered the use of water-mist suppression in the UK over 30 years ago, paving the way for this new method of Fire Protection in the UK which has now become the fastest and most effective method of fire suppression saving countless lives and fires over the last few decades! They pride themselves on being at the forefront of innovation demonstrated by their sterling history and many industry awards! This has resulted in many major contracts won further cementing them as the UK’s leading expert in water mist fire protection.
Overview
This is a fulltime role paying £45k – £50k per year and a Company Van! The looking for a Suppression Engineer based anywhere between the Midlands and Manchester!
Responsibilities
- Performing all maintenance and repair work thoroughly, in a safe manner, and in accordance with all laid down service instructions.
- Ensuring system items removed from customer premises are labelled as necessary to identify the part and issue, and returned to Fireworks office.
- Ensuring that all necessary equipment and service kits to conduct the assigned work is on works van and for liaising with the office for additional supplies where necessary.
- Maintaining a professional relationship with customers and their staff and for being accountable for own conduct as a representative of the business.
- Ensuring all paperwork, whether in hard copy or required to be completed via an issued tablet/iPad, in respect of each job is completed properly and is received by the Fireworks office in a timely manner and in good condition.
- Report all call-outs to the Office as soon as possible.
- Ensuring that all work equipment is maintained.
- Observe all company QHSE policies, procedures and other instructions and ensure all concerns observed or reported are submitted to the QHSE Compliance department.
Qualifications
- Should be qualified to at least Level 3 and ideally hold 17th Edition.
- Good knowledge of water mist fire suppression systems and the wider fire prevention sector.
- Experience in similar field engineer roles.
- Demonstrates the technical competence and awareness required to pass manufacturer courses on the equipment to be maintained and repaired, or has relevant technical qualifications for work being performed.
- Ability to communicate directly with customers and maintain good relationships.
- Proficient in the use of mobile technologies. E.g. Smart phones, Tablets.
- Holds a relevant CSCS or related scheme competency card or able to pass the CSCS Health & Safety Test.
