They are a well-established, leading construction and building services company based in Kent, specialising in improving and protecting the built environment nationwide for over the last 20 years. They pride themselves on providing a fully comprehensive service across multiple avenues such as Construction Projects, Fire Protection & Security Solutions, and Electrical Services and Maintenance, simplifying compliance and risk management for clientele nationwide whilst enhancing safety and asset protection.
Due to the quality of work and service provided, they have amassed an expansive client base with projects across Prisons, High Rises, Social Housing, and numerous Commercial properties. Due to their consistent and exponential growth and expansion, they are now looking for a Fire & Security Engineer to join them ASAP! This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £45k + Commission + Company Vehicle/Van with a realistic OTE of £70k!
This position would suit an experienced and qualified Fire & Security Professional with a positive and proactive attitude to work!
Duties include:
- Install, commission, service and maintain fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with current British Standards and industry regulations.
- Install, maintain and fault find security systems, including intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and door entry systems.
- Diagnose and repair system faults efficiently to minimise downtime and ensure client safety.
- Carry out routine inspections, testing and preventative maintenance on fire and security systems.
- Ensure all works comply with BS 5839, BS 5266, BS EN standards and company procedures.
- Complete accurate service reports, certification and documentation using electronic job management systems.
- Liaise professionally with clients, site managers and colleagues to provide excellent customer service.
- Provide technical advice and system recommendations to clients where required.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and attend sites within agreed service level agreements.
- Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles in a safe and professional condition.
- Adhere to all health & safety policies, risk assessments and method statements.
- Support project installations and upgrades when required.

- Proven experience working as a Fire & Security Engineer.
- Relevant Fire & Security Qualification (e.g. FIA, ECS).
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and relevant British Standards (e.g. BS 5839).
- Experience with security systems such as intruder alarms, CCTV, access control and door entry.
- Ability to carry out installation, servicing, maintenance and fault-finding.
- Familiarity with industry manufacturers (e.g. Gent, Advanced, Morley, Honeywell).
- Competent in reading drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-diagnosis skills.
- Professional and customer-focused approach when dealing with clients.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.
