Workshop Controller (Automotive Bodyshop)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Workshop Controller to join a leading, manufacturer-approved accident repair centre in Northampton.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and organised individual to take ownership of workshop operations, ensuring repairs are completed efficiently, to the highest quality standards, and with outstanding customer satisfaction.
Working in a modern Bodyshop equipped with the latest repair technology, you'll play a pivotal role in maximising productivity while supporting the continued success of the business.
- Your responsibilities will include
- Planning and organising daily workshop workflows to maximise productivity and efficiency.
- Allocating repair work across production teams to ensure optimal utilisation.
- Working closely with Vehicle Damage Assessors, Parts Advisors and Technicians to ensure repairs progress smoothly.
- Monitoring repair times and ensuring vehicles are completed within agreed deadlines.
- Maintaining high standards of repair quality with a strong right-first-time approach.
- Supporting the team to achieve operational and financial performance targets.
- Monitoring workshop performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards, health and safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Promoting a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Bodyshop Controller, or similar leadership role within an automotive accident repair centre.
- Strong understanding of modern vehicle repair methods and Bodyshop processes.
- Previous technical experience and relevant automotive qualifications are essential.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- Proven experience managing or coordinating production teams.
- A collaborative leadership style with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across departments.
- Passion for continuous improvement and embracing new technologies.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- What's On Offer
- Basic Salary: £45,000 per annum
- On Target Earnings: £50,000 per annum
- 45 hour full-time contract.
