Are you an experienced Engineer who knows your way around forklifts and material handling equipment?

This is a great opportunity to join a well-established business specialising in the maintenance, service, and repair of forklifts and related machinery. The company is known for its high technical standards, customer focus, and commitment to keeping equipment running safely and efficiently.

Youll take the lead in diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults, supporting day-to-day workshop operations, and mentoring junior engineers. Its a hands-on role that rewards technical expertise, teamwork, and precision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical repairs, maintenance, and servicing on forklifts and material handling equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults quickly and accurately
  • Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and quality standards
  • Manage day-to-day workshop tasks and support operational efficiency
  • Mentor and assist junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practices
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the workshop

Skills & Experience

  • Proven electrical engineering experience ideally with forklifts, plant, or material handling machinery
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and relevant qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • Confident diagnosing and repairing faults independently
  • Proactive and solution-focused with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to own transport (rural site location)
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance
