Velway provides professional Facilities Management (FM) and property compliance services across the UK, managing a range of sites including commercial offices, care homes, and residential buildings. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Helpdesk Operative to join our friendly Head Office team.
The Role
As a Helpdesk Operative, you will be part of a busy Facilities Management Helpdesk team, supporting clients, contractors, and Facilities Managers to ensure maintenance issues are logged, allocated, and resolved quickly and efficiently. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, communicating with people, and wants to develop their career in Facilities Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle incoming calls and emails for maintenance faults, repairs, and service requests.
- Log, allocate, and track jobs in the CAFM system, ensuring SLAs are met.
- Keep clients updated on progress and build strong relationships through excellent customer service.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers to arrange attendance and confirm completion of works.
- Provide administrative support including quotes, correspondence, and reports.
- Maintain accurate documentation and update internal systems.
- Assist Facilities Managers in understanding site operations and building data.
- Support general office administration such as booking travel and managing supplies.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Helpdesk, Customer Service, or Facilities Management role (preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Confident working with CAFM or CRM systems.
- Great attention to detail, time management, and a positive "can-do" attitude.
- Flexible to work within shift patterns between 08:30 and 17:00.
