A well-regarded investment company is looking for a Senior Asset Manager to take full ownership of a large residential portfolio in London and the South East. Our priority is to find someone who is passionate about customer focus. This will trump prior experience in the residential sector and could be equally performed by an Asset Manager from Flex, Retail or Hospitality. This is not a monitoring role. You will be the most senior operational voice on these assets, managing third-party property management teams, leading active improvement projects, and thinking clearly about capital, performance, and long-term strategy.

The portfolio includes a large urban residential estate with a genuine place-making ambition and a track record of long-term community stewardship, alongside a second asset requiring careful capital planning and commercial judgment. Neither is stabilised. Both require someone who is energised by complexity rather than deterred by it.

You will be responsible for:

  • Day-to-day asset management and operational performance across a portfolio of £400m NAV
  • Managing and performance-managing third-party property management teams
  • Delivering active improvement projects across lettings, community, and infrastructure
  • Resident escalations, including legal complexity and protected tenancy situations
  • Valuation awareness, capex planning, and contributing to investment strategy

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in active residential or adjacent asset management with direct accountability for operational performance
  • Commercially rigorous, with a clear grasp of capex, valuations, and financial outcomes
  • Proven at managing third-party teams, holding standards, and driving improvement
  • Resilient, self-sufficient, and comfortable with legal and resident complexity
  • Low ego, intellectually curious, and motivated by doing the work well
